Alton Area BPW is involved in community activities, and maintains numerous programs throughout the year. These programs benefit the Alton Area, from the donation and support for the Women's Crisis Center, to scholarships to Lewis and Clark Community College and everyone in between. We are proud to be able to make a positive impact on the community we all share, and especially proud to play a role in the guidance of young girls and women. Our Events/Programs/Projects¨ Postlewait-Brunjes Scholarship: each year we award this scholarship to two women attending Lewis & Clark Community College to further their education. For more information please feel free to email us. ¨ Participate in the Eva McDonald's Women's History Brunch each year by joining with other women organizations. ¨ Help provide necessary items to the Oasis Women's Center, and also volunteering at the Caravan Resale Shop. ¨ Keep abreast with legislation at State and National levels that affect today's women. ¨ Provide monthly programs of interest to the membership and to guests. Programs are informational and about women's issues. ¨ Organizing events to publicize the National Business Women Week in October. ¨ Aid in the personal and professional development of young women, and raise awareness of issues affecting women today through: à Virginia Allan Young Careerist Program (YC) à Individual Development Program (IDP) ¨ *new* Domain Hosting Service Provider, Globalnet GNP and BPW/USA partner in their Web Presence Rewards programs which will provide all local organizations nationwide with their own individual website at no charge. Any member who refers new web hosting clients to GNP will reward their local organization with scholarships and a 25% lifetime monthly donation on all revenue from each client.
